Dear Sir/Madam:

The Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines, Inc., (ASEP) is hosting the 12th ASEP International Convention (12th AIC) with the theme “Exploring New Horizons in Structural Engineering Profession” on March 15-17, 2006 at the Manila Pavilion Hotel, United Nations Avenue, Ermita, Manila This convention shall be attended by architects, building officials, civil engineers, consultants, developers, manufacturers, materials engineers, field inspectors, project engineers and managers, QA/QC engineers, academicians, students and structural engineers .

One of the highlights of the convention is the technical paper presentations of various researches and experiences of authors from here and abroad. These papers will focus on the theme “Exploring New Horizons in Structural Engineering”. In this regard, we are inviting you to be part of this undertaking by submitting an abstract and a full paper for later presentation on any subject matter related to the abovementioned theme.

The three (3) day convention is highlighted by the many activities lined up for all participants such as – tours and site visits, sports tournament, trades & exhibits of various products, Structural Engineering Quiz Contest (SEQC), Keynote & Technical Paper Presentations, Continuing Professional Development Lectures. Scientific and Technical Meetings shall also be held to discuss vital and issues affecting the Profession like – Billboard Issues, Government School Buildings Structural Assessment, Schedule of Professional Fees, and many more.

So come, join and enjoy. I shall be glad to hear from you your comments, suggestions and encouragements regarding the holding of our biennial convention. In ASEP, we make things “just a little better”.

(12AIC)

Background

The ASEP International Convention is a biennial activity of the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (ASEP). Every holding of such event proves the continuing commitments of various professionals and institution towards achieving better understanding of the various problems and solutions to our environment in the various fields of engineering, architecture, seismology, seismic risk and disaster prevention and mitigation as well as the socio-economic issues that go with such.

The very good attendance record of delegates, speakers and exhibitors as well as the numerous keynote papers, technical papers and continuing professional development lectures have always been the trademark of ASEP international conventions.

The 12AIC promises to be as exciting and as technically full-packed convention just like the previous ones. Although this time, the organizers would like to show the participants of how this convention is prepared owing to its theme ““Exploring New Horizons in the Structural Engineering Profession”. Many additional segments will be included. The used to be 2 days affair have been extended to three days. This is to accommodate the other activities related to the holding of this 12th convention.

Convention Program

12AIC provides an excellent forum to bring together researchers, professionals, engineers, scientists and academicians to promote and exchange new ideas and experiences in the broad fields of engineering, architecture, seismology, seismic risk and disaster mitigation.

The convention is composed of keynote presentations, plenary sessions, organized special sessions, parallel sessions, continuing professional education lectures, exhibits and poster presentations.

Convention Fees

The registration fee for the convention covers attendance to Day 1, Day 2 & Day 3, the convention kit, lunch and snacks Day 2 & 3. The kit includes a masterfully crafted conference bag containing a Book of Keynote Papers and Summary Papers and a CD of full papers.

Certificates of Attendance and Appearance will be given at the end of the Convention.

Other fees are applicable to all delegates, speakers and organizers depending on the additional activities they would want to attend.
