ASEP Through the Years: 1982-1984
1982-1983
- ASEP paid tribute to its Founding President Ambrosio Flores
on February 11, 1983 at the Philippine Columbian Association.
ASEP paid tribute of Past President Cesar Caliwara during
the general membership meeting at Club Filipino last November
11, 1983. The resolution to create life membership category
was also approved during the meeting.
- ASEP was the principal sponsor of the Third Conference
on Structural Engineering held in Jakarta, Indonesia on November
1983.
- ASEP became an affiliate association of the IABSE (International
Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering) based
in Switzerland.
1983-1984
- ASEP paid tribute to past President Dr. Ernesto G. Tabujara
during the general membership meeting held at the Philippine
Columbian Association, November 17, 1984. The amendment to
the constitution and by-laws creating the college of fellows
was approved in a general membership meeting.
- Approval of the updated Code of Ethics by the general membership
on March 24, 1984. The updated code governs the practice
of structural engineering and includes fundamental principles
and cannons of the structural engineering practice.
- ASEP President Ernesto de Castro was elected President
of the Asia Pacific Society of Structural Engineers during
the convention held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
- Submission of a resolution of affiliation of ASEP with
PICE which was subsequently accepted. Endorsement of the
Specialty Board of Structural Engineering and subsequent
immediate action and approval of the Board of Civil Engineering
and the Professional Regulation Commission.
